So I recently got the question, “What happened to Food Marriage? Did you retire?” Yes, it’s been three weeks since my last post. Yes, I’m still alive. And, no I didn’t retire. So what’s been going on these last few weeks?
Well, for one we went on a family vacation to Sea Isle City, NJ. I did cook that week, but I made a whole bunch of things you’ve seen here before like my macaroni salad and pasta salad. I also made my brownie cupcakes with peanut butter chips which were a HUGE hit. I did make some fabulous rice krispie treats too, which I will have to share the recipe with you soon! They are a must for any family vacation!!
Let’s see…what else happened? My husband and I made a couple trips up to New York City to the Hospital for Specialty Surgery for some doctor’s appointments for him. And we did discover a great restaurant for thin crust pizza just a couple blocks from the hospital (more on that story later).
OH! And I FINALLY discovered the cheese aisle of the Wegman’s grocery store and thought I just walked into heaven! My friends and family could not believe it took me so long to go to this store, but honestly there was never one close enough for me to conveniently get to so I just never went. I got an amazing asiago and artichoke dip which I ate within two days all by myself!
Yes, I have been cooking at home, too. Nothing too exciting lately, though. I mean, do you really want to hear that I browned some ground beef, opened a can of Manwich and made some Sloppy Joes? Or that we threw some Totino’s Pizza Rolls in the oven for an easy dinner? Probably not, so I spared you the uninteresting details.
And so, per my husband’s encouragement and per my craving for more exciting food….Food Marriage is back in action! (Now I just need to go to the grocery store….)
